Soon Li Teh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticultural Science at the University of Minnesota. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for his undergraduate degrees in Agronomy and Biochemistry. In 2018, he received his PhD in plant breeding and molecular genetics from the University of Minnesota, where he characterized genetic markers and biomarkers associated with grape powdery mildew resistance. Over the past 5 years (2018-2023), he led the pear rootstock breeding program at Washington State University to develop dwarfing and precocious rootstocks.
